Sense and Sensibility is based on Jane Austen's classic short story and tells the story of the Dashwood sisters, the sensible Elinor (Thompson) and the passionate Marianne (Winslet), whose chances of getting married are threatened by the family's sudden bankruptcy. Rickman, Grant and Greg Wise are their co-stars in the roles of the sympathetic suitors, who must see themselves caught between the strict rules of society and the unyielding forces of love.
