Lord of the Rings, The: 3-Film Collection - Theatrical Versions

Director Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy gave J.R. Tolkien's legendary book et impressive liv also in film format. The enormously lavish films, filmed in fantastic natural landscapes in Jackson's home country of New Zealand, were a solid success both among audiences and critics. Out of a total of 30 Oscar nominations, 17 resulted in the given statuette, and when Atter En Konge was voted best film in January 2004, many considered it a prize for the entire trilogy.

The Fellowship of the Ring
The Fellowship of the Ring tells the story of the young hobbit Frodo, who inherits a seemingly innocent, but magical ring from his uncle Bilbo. Frodo soon learns that the ring's creator, the evil wizard Sauron, is desperately searching for the ring. This little thing hides powerful evil forces that could enable Sauron to enslave the inhabitants of the land of Midgard. There is only one way out - to destroy the ring in Doomsday Gorge. A select group of you, led by the hobbit Frodo, set off on the fateful mission. It will be a journey filled with adventure and dangerous challenges...

Two Towers
The brotherhood has been divided, but the goal of destroying the ring is not yet accomplished. Frodo and Sam put their lives in Gollum's hands to find the way to Mordor. As Saruman's army approaches, the survivors of the Brotherhood, along with humans and elves from Midgard, must prepare for battle. The War of the Ring has begun.

Again A King
The brotherhood's journey is coming to an end. Sauron's army has attacked Gondor's capital of Minas Tirith in the final battle against humanity, and with only the Chancellor at the helm, the once-proud kingdom has never needed its king more. But will Aragorn find the inner strength he needs to accept the role fate has decided he will play - will he be able to take the role he was born to play? And not least - will Frodo manage to destroy the ring?
