In a near-future society, The Running Man is the most popular TV show. It's a deadly competition where contestants try to survive for 30 days while being hunted by assassins. Every twist and turn is broadcast live to bloodthirsty viewers, and each day increases the prize pool.
Desperate worker Ben Richards (Glen Powell) tries to save his daughter and, as a last resort, accepts an offer from charming but ruthless producer Dan Killian (Josh Brolin) to enter the competition. But Ben's defiance, instincts and stubbornness unexpectedly make him a crowd favorite - and a threat to the entire system.
As ratings and danger reach new heights, Ben must defeat both the Hunters and a nation that expects him to lose.
